To uključuje pretilost, sjedilački način života, nedovoljna tjelovježba, loša prehrana, stres, starenje i pušenje, zatim hipertenzija, hiperlipidemija i šećerna bolest.
Abstract (english) Periodontitis is a multifactorial disease that leads to tooth loss. Globally, it is one of the world's most common disease. The causative agents are anaerobic Gram-negative bacteria that have the ability to invade tissues and cause an inflammatory response. Cardiovascular diseases are among the most common diseases, causing 17,9 million deaths per year, of which 3,9 million in Europe. A common cause of cardiovascular disease is a person’s lifestyle. This pertains to obesity, sedentary lifestyle, inadequate exercise, poor diet, stress, aging and smoking, followed by hypertension, hyperlipidemia and diabetes. These causes are also risk factors that can change, and risk factors that cannot change include age and gender. Atherosclerosis is a disease of the arteries in which atheroma forms and the artery wall thickens, and is the basis for devlopment of majority of cardiovascular disease. Numerous experimental, clinical and epidemiological studies have proven the connection between cardiovascular diseases and periodontitis. The workshop, organized by the European Periodontal Federation (EFP) and the World Heart Federation (WHF), revised the existing literature and presented new literature, and made recommendations for the daily work of dentists, doctors and patients. By implementing these recommendations, it is possible to prevent and / or diagnose cardiovascular diseases in patients with periodontitis in a timely manner.
